Not necessarily. It will depend in large part on which state you are located and operating in. WarPaint International is a legally registered LLC, operating as a beauty agency in Minneapolis, MN, providing services to a wide variety of clients. We do not operate a brick and mortar salon space or employ cosmetologists for regulated cosmetology or Advanced Practice services. If you have questions about the services you intend to provide, you should refer to the Board of Cosmetology in your state and consult your attorney.
UPDATE in May of 2020, WarPaint International worked together with Faces Etc of Minnesota, School of Makeup Artistry to overturn the licensure demands of the MN Board of Cosmetology. Freelancers in Minnesota are able to work free and clear of cosmetology/esthetician licenses as long you obtain the 4-hour sanitation requirement through Faces Etc. of MN. Visit their website HERE.
